OK, this took me for about two weeks, but it was totally worth it!
Now, here's an explanation. This is drawn with black ink and red watercolour on a 40 x 50 paper sheet. That evil dragon isn't an OC, I drew it trying to make it looking realistic and frightening.
When I posted the first part of the sketch of this drawing I said this piece is probably gonna be really important for me, and now I'll say why. That striped thing isn't a pole for doing lap dance (as a person said when she saw this for the first time... -.-), it's one of the two smokestacks of an enormous coal-fired power station located in Vado Ligure, a little town on the Ligurian coast in the province of Savona (maybe you've heard of other little towns in the same zone, as Spotorno, Alassio, Varazze, Loano and Varigotti). It's a monster which everyday burns about 5000 tons of coal. The sea here is extraordinarily blue as it's extraordinarily polluted. And the air is full of poisons. For example, in our air the levels of arsenic, chrome, cadmium, mercury and other toxic substances are terribly over the natural levels and the legal limits. These poisons, moreover, fastly travel in the air, and also other towns are victim of this pollution (the biggest towns near Savona are Imperia and Genoa). Not only the air and the sea are polluted, not only here there are lots of people who suffer of cancer, cardiovascular disease and other patologies because of pollution (for example, I have a problem with my eyes because of smog, I should use eye drops every evening), but now the company that manages the power station wants to build another plant which will burn OTHER HUNDREDS OF TONS OF COAL EVERY DAY. The horrible thing is that with the permission of the Region and of the Province this THING will be built and citizens can do NOTHING to stop it!!! I think you should understand that this is unfair! Coal is the most polluting fuel and, also with the most advanced technologies, it is a threat for health and environment. And anyway, also if coal were the right choice (but it isn't), the final decision should be due of citizens who live in the zone. So, we started a "fight" against coal. In Savona was "born" the "Rete Savonese: fermiamo il carbone" (from Italian to English: "Savonese Network: Let's stop coal"). Lots of associations are part of the Rete. Personally, I'm a member of "Uniti Per La Salute - Associazione ONLUS" (from ITA to ENG: "United For Health - ONLUS Association"), which is at its time part of the Rete.
Perhaps you've already seen this power station: it is immediately in front of the main road. So, for example, if you travelled from France to Italy by road along the coast and you went over Savona, you've certainly seen it. You can recognize its two enourmous smokestacks.
Now, let's say other things about this drawing: the evil dragon represents the threat of pollution. The title "The silent killer" is refered to pollution, too.
Nothing else to say (I've already said much
